I’ve been looking through the biggest 2027 wedding trends, and there’s a lot to get excited about. Deep colors, vintage touches and some really playful surprises are all on the list.
I pulled together 20 ideas and grouped them by category, so you can jump straight to what you’re planning, whether that’s your venue, your flowers or your menu.
Planning, Venue & Travel Trends
Let’s start with the big-picture choices, since the 2027 wedding trends are changing how couples plan the whole celebration.
1. Multi-Day Celebrations
A lot of couples are spreading the celebration over more than one day. That can mean a courthouse ceremony, a welcome party, or a full wedding weekend.
This works well when you want more time with your guests. Instead of rushing through one big day, you get to enjoy each part of it.
Think about which events matter most to you, then pick the number of days that fits your guest list and budget.
2. Non-Traditional Venues
Venues are getting a lot more creative. Couples are choosing members clubs, townhomes, spas, sports arenas, art museums and libraries.
I really like this trend because the space does a lot of the decorating for you. A library or an art museum already has so much character.
Just ask early what the venue allows, so you know what you can bring in before you start planning around it.
3. Private Honeymoons
Honeymoons are going more private too. Couples are looking at secluded villa resorts, lesser-known Mediterranean islands and even floating hotels.
I love this idea after a big wedding weekend. You get quiet time together instead of a packed schedule.
Lesser-known islands are worth a look if you want fewer crowds. A floating hotel is a fun pick if you’d like something different from a regular resort.
Colors & Materials
Next up are colors and materials, which is where I think the 2027 wedding trends feel the warmest.
4. Deep, Rich Colors
Deep colors are big for 2027. Merlot, plum, powdery blue and moss green are all popular, with blush and champagne mixed in.
Blush and champagne help soften the darker shades, so a merlot or plum palette doesn’t feel too heavy.
If merlot or plum feels like too much, powdery blue and moss green are an easy way to add color without going too dark.
5. Silver Accents
Silver is coming back with vintage silver trays, monogrammed mirrors and futuristic silver floral arrangements.
I love starting with vintage silver trays. They have a classic look that instantly makes a table feel special.
Mixing them with futuristic silver florals gives you a look that feels both old and new. Monogrammed mirrors add a personal touch to the mix.
6. Vintage Lace Décor
Lace is back on tablescapes and in décor. It’s a soft, classic detail that adds texture to a space.
One idea I really love is a veil made from a grandmother’s lace tablecloth. It’s such a sweet way to bring family into your day.
If you don’t have a family piece, you can still use lace on your tables for the same vintage feel.
Wedding Themes & Styles
Now for the fun part – the themes. These are the 2027 wedding trends that let your personality shine.
7. Italian Coastal Style
Italian coastal style is all about beach club vibes. Think spritz bars, cabana stripes, lemon motifs, and marigold and Mediterranean-blue textiles.
The marigold and blue together feel bright and relaxed, which is exactly the mood this theme is going for.
A spritz bar is an easy way to start if you only want a little of the look. Add lemons and striped details and you’re most of the way there.
8. Ballet-Inspired Details
Ballet is a sweet theme for 2027. Swan motifs, ribbons, textured draping and crystal all come into play.
This one feels really soft and graceful. Ribbons and draping add movement, and crystal gives you a little sparkle.
You don’t have to go all in on it. A few swan touches and some ribbon can carry the whole idea.
9. Art-Inspired Weddings
Art-inspired weddings are a great fit for couples who love creative things. Think art-themed engagement shoots and stained-glass pieces on welcome signs.
It’s a nice way to share what you love with your guests from the very start.
The stained-glass welcome sign is one I really like. Guests see it as soon as they arrive, so it sets the tone right away.
Décor, Backdrops & Flowers
Now let’s get into the details that fill your space, from cozy touches to flowers. I’m giving these a little extra attention, since this is where a lot of the 2027 wedding trends really come to life.
10. Home-Style Interiors
Home-style interiors are one of the coziest 2027 wedding trends, with table lamps and coffee-table guest books leading the way.
I’ve found that little home touches help guests relax faster. A table lamp gives off a soft, warm light that feels very different from bright overhead lighting.
A coffee-table guest book adds to that living room feel. It’s a simple way to make the space feel like yours.
11. Surreal Props and Backdrops
Surreal props and backdrops are all about unexpected textures in your backdrops and design layouts. For example, you could try oversized objects or a backdrop made from an unusual material.
This is really fun for photos, since a backdrop that surprises people gives guests something to react to.
If you try it, pick one big statement piece and keep everything else simple, so the surprise really stands out.
12. Single-Flower Installations
Some couples are skipping the mixed arrangements and going with just one thing. All-hydrangea, moss or wisteria designs are the ones to look at.
This looks really clean. Sticking to a single type makes the design feel bold without being busy.
It also keeps planning simple, since you’re not trying to match lots of different flowers together.
13. Whimsical Blooms
On the other end, whimsical blooms are all about rumpled, playful flowers like poppies.
I really like these for couples who want something relaxed. They look loose and a little wild, not stiff or perfect.
Poppies are a fun place to start. And since this is the opposite of the single-flower look, you can just pick the one that fits your style better.
Food, Drinks & Favors
Food and drink are where the 2027 wedding trends get really interactive, so let’s take our time here.
14. Interactive Food and Drinks
Food and drinks are becoming more of an experience. Think roaming caviar service, martini sidecars and a secret pickle bar.
Roaming caviar service brings the food right to your guests, which keeps everyone mingling.
A secret pickle bar is a fun surprise guests will talk about later. Martini sidecars add a little extra fun to the drink menu too.
15. Heritage Menus
Heritage menus let each partner’s background show up on the plate. One idea is an Indian station for one partner, a Maryland station for the other and a New York station for both.
Another idea is a Chinese banquet served alongside challah made by the bride’s mother. This is one of my favorite 2027 wedding trends because it’s so personal.
Plus, it gives family a real part in the day, and guests learn a little about both of you just by eating.
16. Pop-Up Favors
Favors are turning into pop-ups. Think fragrance stations, bouquet bars and espresso martini service.
This works well when you want favors to feel like an experience. Guests get to take part instead of just grabbing something from a table.
A fragrance station or bouquet bar is a sweet way to say thank you, and espresso martini service turns a simple drink into a little moment.
Stationery, Branding, Registry & Photos
Last but not least, these 2027 wedding trends tie your whole day together, from your save-the-date to your photos.
17. Couple Branding
Couple branding means creating a look for your wedding and using it everywhere. That includes custom crests and a consistent motif from the save-the-date to the wedding website.
This ties everything together. Guests see the same design at every step, so the whole wedding feels connected.
A custom crest is a good place to start, since you can use it across all your pieces.
18. Creative Stationery
Stationery is getting a lot more personal. Custom illustrations, handwritten lettering, pop-up menus and ceremony program fans are all part of this trend.
Ceremony program fans are pretty and useful at the same time, which is why I like them so much.
Handwritten lettering and custom illustrations make everything feel like it came straight from you. Pop-up menus add a fun surprise when guests open them.
19. Vintage-Style Registry
Registries are going retro. Couples are adding old-school cocktail glasses, throwback camcorders and vintage-style record players.
This is such a fun trend because these are gifts you’ll actually enjoy using, not just storing in a cabinet.
A record player and a nice set of cocktail glasses can make date nights at home feel more special. And a throwback camcorder is a fun way to film moments together.
20. Cinematic Photography
Cinematic photography is the last of the 2027 wedding trends on my list. Instead of standard posed shots, couples want dreamy, artsy compositions in a Wes Anderson style.
I love how this makes your photos feel like a little movie. Every shot looks planned and full of character.
If you like this look, talk to your photographer early and share a few examples of the style you want.
