Choosing a theme is the hardest part of decorating a tree. I’ve found it helps to see the whole look at once, so here are 15 Christmas tree ideas for 2026, grouped by style.

Some are simple and some are full of color. Pick the group that sounds most like your home and start there.

Floral & Botanical Christmas Trees

If you want your tree to feel like a garden, start here. In these three tree ideas, flowers and leaves are the main decoration.

1. Blue Hydrangea Tree

I love a blue hydrangea tree when you want a Christmas tree that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. It’s covered in big blue hydrangea blooms and finished with warm lights.

The warm lights soften the blue, so the tree feels cozy instead of cold.

Faux hydrangeas are an easy way to do this one, and they’ll keep their shape all season.

2. Dried Flower Tree

Consider a dried flower tree for a rustic, earthy look. It’s a fir filled with dried roses, marigolds, baby’s breath and bunny tails, with citrus garlands.

The marigolds and citrus add warm color, and the baby’s breath and bunny tails keep everything soft.

Dried flowers can be fragile, so add them last and pack them away carefully after the holidays.

3. Magnolia Leaf Tree

A magnolia leaf tree is a great pick if you like a natural, botanical look. It has magnolia leaves, dried lotus pods and mushrooms, with a citrus garland in earthy tones.

The leaves are big, so a few go a long way.

Keep the lights warm and simple so the textures stay the star.

Rustic, Scandinavian & Boho Christmas Trees

These three Christmas trees lean natural and cozy. They’re a good fit if you like a calmer look with lots of texture.

4. Pinecone & Glass Tree

I really like a pinecone and glass tree for a rustic look. It has natural pinecones and glass icicles on the branches, with warm lights.

The pinecones bring the woodsy feel, and the glass icicles catch the light.

Hang the icicles close to the lights so they pick up the glow.

5. Moss & Icicle Tree

Another option is a Scandinavian-style tree with loose Spanish moss and glass icicles. It’s a natural tree with a small star topper.

There’s very little on it, so the shape of the tree still shows.

Drape the moss loosely instead of packing it in. The messy, natural look is what makes this one work.

6. Pampas Plume Tree

This works well when you want a boho modern tree. It’s a green tree with a fluffy white pampas plume garland spiraling down.

The white plumes stand out against the green, so you don’t need many other decorations.

Start the garland at the top and spiral it down evenly. Pampas can shed, so give it a gentle shake first.

Classic & Traditional Christmas Trees

These three feel familiar and a little old-fashioned, in the best way. If you want a Christmas tree that never goes out of style, look here.

7. Cranberry Red Tree

A cranberry red tree is the one I’d pick for a traditional Christmas. It’s full of cranberry-red berries and red ornaments, with long satin ribbons.

Keeping everything in red makes the tree look full and put together.

Let the ribbons hang long and loose so they add some movement.

8. Green Velvet Bow Tree

Think about a green velvet bow tree if you want a classic Christmas tree without a lot of ornaments. It’s a green tree with a few oversized emerald velvet bows.

Emerald velvet is rich and soft, so even a few bows make a statement.

Look for wired velvet ribbon, since it holds the shape of a big bow.

9. Pearl Garland Tree

I love a pearl garland tree for a vintage look. It’s a slim tree with long pearl garlands, burgundy bows and candles.

The pearls and burgundy together feel old-fashioned and elegant.

Flameless candles are the safer pick on a tree, and they look just as pretty.

Vintage, Retro & Colorful Christmas Trees

If you like color and a bit of nostalgia, these three are the most playful trees in the bunch.

10. Silver Tinsel Tree

A silver tinsel tree is a good choice if you love the old-school look. It’s a frosted tree with silver tinsel, mercury glass and retro pink and green ornaments.

The silver shines under the lights, and the pink and green ornaments keep it playful.

Mercury glass is fragile, so hang it higher up if you have kids or pets.

11. Vintage Metallic Tree

I really like a vintage metallic tree for a retro, colorful Christmas. It’s a snow-flocked tree with shiny long ornaments in blue, red, gold and green, plus red and gold tinsel.

The white flocking makes a clean backdrop, so the bright colors really stand out.

Hang the long ornaments at the ends of the branches so you can see them.

12. Ribbon Party Tree

Another option is a ribbon party tree if you want something fun. It’s a colorful tree with ribbons, popcorn garland and a big pink flower topper.

Nothing here has to match, so it’s a great one to decorate with family.

If you’re making the popcorn garland, use popcorn that’s a day or two old. It’s easier to string.

Modern & Glam Christmas Trees

These last three are clean and a little dressy. They also happen to be some of the most photo-friendly Christmas tree ideas for 2026 on the list.

13. Giant Bow Tree

Consider a giant bow tree for a minimalist Christmas. It’s a simple tree with warm lights and one oversized cream bow.

With only one bow, this is one of the easiest Christmas tree ideas for 2026 to pull off, and the whole tree feels calm and clean.

Go big on the bow, since a small one gets lost on a full-size tree.

14. Crystal & Black Bow Tree

A crystal and black bow tree is one of my go-to suggestions for a modern glam look. It has clear crystal drops, silver icicles and slim black velvet bows.

The black bows add contrast, so the crystal and silver really stand out.

White lights make the crystal drops sparkle even more.

15. Satin Ruffle Tree

I love a satin ruffle tree for a glam look that still feels soft. It’s a dark green tree with thick cream satin ruffle garland and tiny white lights.

The cream stands out against the dark green, and the tiny lights add a gentle glow.

Fluff the ruffles after you wrap the garland so they keep their shape.
