Finding Your Perfect Match

Cartoon and Animated Couples Costumes

1. Fred and Wilma Flintstone

I love this one for couples who want something classic and easy to spot in a crowd. Fred wears an orange spotted caveman tunic with matching shorts, and Wilma goes with a white one-shoulder crop top and skirt with a pearl necklace.

This couples Halloween costume works so well because everyone recognizes the Flintstones on sight. The orange and black spots paired with Wilma’s pearls make you stand out the second you walk into a party.

For the look, use orange fabric with black triangle cutouts for his tunic and white faux leather scraps for her top and skirt. Add a pearl choker, tall brown boots, and a blue tie for him to finish it off.

2. Kermit and Miss Piggy

This is such a fun, low effort pick if you love a classic TV duo. Kermit wears a green shirt with a felt spiked collar, and Miss Piggy goes with a pink polka dot dress, a white feather boa, and gloves.

I’ve found this one gets a lot of compliments because it’s so instantly recognizable. It’s silly, it’s sweet, and it barely takes any real costume pieces to pull off.

Start with a green button-down and add a felt spiked collar for him. Pair a pink polka-dot dress with a feather boa, a pig-ear headband, and some pearl jewelry for her.

3. Stitch and Lilo

This is a sweet one if you want something a little more family-friendly. He wears a blue Stitch hooded onesie, and she goes with a red top, a green leaf hula skirt, and a flower lei bracelet.

I love how photogenic this couples costume is. It’s a Disney pairing that feels warm and playful without being over the top.

A Stitch character onesie or hoodie is the easiest starting point. Add a red bandeau or crop top, a faux leaf skirt, and a few floral accessories for her.

4. Charlie Brown and Lucy Van Pelt (Peanuts)

Here’s a super low effort option that still reads clearly. He wears a yellow zigzag shirt and carries a football for Charlie Brown, and she wears a soft blue dress while holding a Snoopy plush for Lucy.

I really like this one for couples who don’t want to deal with makeup or wigs. It’s nostalgic, and the football is such a nice little nod to Charlie Brown.

A yellow shirt with black zigzag trim does most of the work here. Add a plush Snoopy toy as her main accessory, and you’re basically done.

5. Alvin and the Chipmunks

This one is playful and easy to put together with basic pieces. He wears a red hoodie with a big felt A and an ear-topped cap, and she wears a pink jacket with ears and a plaid tie, both holding toy microphones.

I love this couples costume for anyone who grew up on the movies. It’s nostalgic, colorful, and works well if you want something a little silly.

Grab a red hoodie and add a felt A to the front, then top it off with chipmunk ear headbands. A little nose and whisker makeup and toy microphones finish the whole look.

6. Shrek and Fiona

This is one of my favorite mismatched-but-perfect couples costumes. He wears an ogre ear headband with a brown vest, and she goes with green ogre ears, a tiara, and a long green dress with a braid.

It’s such a funny, sweet contrast between the ogre and the princess. Everyone recognizes this pairing right away, which makes it a great pick if you want an easy win.

Foam ogre ears work for both of you. Pair a brown vest over a white shirt with plaid pants for him, and a green fitted dress with a small tiara and a braided wig for her.

7. Carl and Russell (Up)

This is one of the most heartwarming couples costumes on this list. One of you dresses as elderly Carl in a brown suit, bow tie, gray wig, and glasses, while the other goes as a girl scout version of Russell in a vest with a sash, badges, and khaki shorts.

I love this pairing because it’s unexpected. The age gap between grandpa and scout is funny on its own, and a bunch of balloons makes it instantly recognizable as Up.

A brown suit, bow tie, and cane cover Carl’s side. For Russell, a vest with patches and a sash does most of the work, and pigtails or a bow give it that girl scout twist. A bunch of colorful balloons is the prop that ties it all together.

8. Curious George and Ted (Curious George)

This is such a cute, nostalgic pairing straight from Curious George. She wears a brown fitted dress with a monkey ear headband as George, and he wears a yellow shirt with a polka-dot tie as Ted, the Man in the Yellow Hat.

I love this one because it’s such an easy pick for anyone who grew up on the books or movie. It’s simple, sweet, and doesn’t take much extra shopping.

A brown bodycon dress with a felt monkey-ear headband covers her side. A yellow button-down with a fun tie makes for a simple, no-sew costume for him as Ted.

9. Wall-E and Eve (WALL-E)

This is such a quirky, conversation-starting pairing straight from Pixar’s WALL-E. He wears a tweed cap with goggles, a vest, and a bow tie, holding a boot with a plant growing out of it as WALL-E, while she wears a white wig, sunglasses, and a string lights necklace as Eve.

I love the texture contrast here between WALL-E’s rugged, worn-in look and Eve’s sleek, glowing style. The goggles nod to his eyes, and the string lights capture her glow perfectly.

A tweed newsboy cap with aviator goggles and a brown vest cover his look, with a small potted plant tucked into an old boot as the prop, that classic detail straight from the movie. A white wig, oversized sunglasses, and battery-powered mini string lights worn as a necklace finish hers.

10. Darla and Nemo (Finding Nemo)

This is such a fun, novelty pairing straight from Finding Nemo. He wears a red pigtail wig with a graphic sweatshirt and a plaid skirt as Darla, and she wears an orange clownfish costume inside a clear inflatable bag as Nemo, just like the fish Darla gets as a gift in the movie.

I love how unexpected this couples costume is. It’s fun, a little goofy, and instantly recognizable to any Finding Nemo fan, especially with Nemo tucked right into that bag.

A red wig, graphic sweatshirt, and plaid mini skirt make for an easy, no-makeup option for Darla. An inflatable clear bag fish costume covers Nemo’s look completely.

Movie and TV Couples Costumes

11. Padmé and Anakin (Star Wars)

This is a great pick if you’re both big Star Wars fans. He wears a brown Jedi robe with a lightsaber as Anakin, and she wears a white fitted top and skirt with an arm cuff and belt pouches as Padmé.

I love the color contrast here. The white against the brown looks clean in photos, and the lightsaber prop makes the whole costume pop.

A brown robe or tunic set paired with a toy lightsaber covers his side easily. For her, go with a white turtleneck and skirt, a silver arm band, and a few small belt pouches.

12. Harry Potter and Hermione

This is one I recommend a lot because it’s so accessible. White shirts with house-color ties are the base for both of you, with one of you holding a wand.

This couples Halloween costume works for such a wide age range since the Harry Potter books and movies are so widely loved. It’s also easy to find pieces for without much searching.

White collared shirts and house-color ties are the foundation. Add a pleated skirt for her and round glasses for him, then finish with a toy wand.

13. Top Gun Pilots

This is such a cool, confident couple look. Matching olive green flight suits with patches and aviator sunglasses, both of you saluting for the camera, make this an easy win.

I love how well this one reads in photos. It’s a simple matching-outfit costume that still feels put together and a little glamorous.

Olive flight suit coveralls with iron-on patches are the main piece here. Add aviator sunglasses and dog tags for a little extra detail.

14. The Mask and Tina Carlyle (The Mask)

This is a bold, theatrical pick if you want something with a bit more drama. He wears a bright yellow suit with green face paint and a feathered hat as The Mask, and she pairs it with a black-and-white striped fitted gown as Tina Carlyle.

I like this one because it’s high contrast and fun without being complicated. The green face paint alone makes it instantly recognizable.

Green face paint, a yellow zoot-style suit, a polka-dot tie, and a feathered fedora cover his look. Pair it with any sleek striped or black dress for her.

15. Men in Black Agents

This is such a sleek, simple couples costume. Matching black suits, dark sunglasses, and MIB ID badges are the whole idea, with each of you holding an inflatable alien toy.

I love how little effort this takes while still looking put together. The alien prop is what really sells it as Men in Black instead of just a suit.

A black suit and tie with dark sunglasses is the base for both of you. Add a printed MIB lanyard badge and an inflatable green alien toy to finish it off.

16. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman (Breaking Bad)

This one is great if you’re both fans of the show. Matching yellow hazmat suits with respirator masks, holding bags of blue rock candy as the product, make this instantly recognizable.

I’ve found this couples costume gets a huge reaction from Breaking Bad fans especially. It’s easy to do as a matching set, and the prop does a lot of the storytelling.

Yellow protective coveralls and purple gloves are the main pieces. Add a gas mask or respirator, then carry bags of blue rock candy as your product.

17. Mia and Vincent (Pulp Fiction)

This is such a cool, retro movie reference. She wears a black bob wig, white button-down, and black shorts or skirt, and he wears a black suit with slicked hair, both striking their signature dance pose.

I love this one for couples who want something a little more stylish than silly. It photographs so well, especially if you recreate that dance scene.

A black bob wig, oversized white shirt, black shorts, and knee-high boots cover her look. A simple black suit and white tee work for him, then just recreate their dance pose for photos.

18. Princess Mia and Her Bodyguard (The Princess Diaries)

This is such a fun, glamorous pairing straight from The Princess Diaries. He wears a black leather jacket, sunglasses, and an earpiece as Mia’s bodyguard, and she wears a white strapless dress, a tiara, sunglasses, and headphones as Princess Mia.

I love this one because it’s got a little bit of a power dynamic built into the story. It’s glamorous, it’s easy for any Princess Diaries fan to spot, and you don’t need to track down a specific costume purchase to pull it off.

A black leather jacket with sunglasses and a coiled earpiece covers his look. A white dress, a rhinestone tiara, sunglasses, and oversized headphones finish hers.

19. Sharkboy and Lavagirl

This is a bold, striking couples costume straight from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. He wears a metallic gray shark-tooth vest with a scaled sleeve as Sharkboy, and she wears a hot pink long-sleeve bodysuit with a gold belt and pink boots as Lavagirl.

I love how photo-ready this pairing is. The silver and gray against the hot pink makes for such a striking contrast at any party.

A gray tank with felt shark teeth and a shiny scale sleeve covers his look. A pink bodysuit, gold belt, and knee-high boots finish hers.

Spooky and Gothic Couples Costumes

20. Jack Skellington and Sally (The Nightmare Before Christmas)

This is one of the most romantic spooky couples costumes out there. Jack wears a black suit with skeleton face paint and a bone bow tie, and Sally wears a patchwork dress with stitch makeup and a red wig.

I love how dramatic this one looks in photos. It’s a beloved gothic-romantic pairing, and the makeup alone makes it a standout at any Halloween party.

White and black face paint with skeleton lines covers Jack’s look, paired with a black suit and a bone-patterned bow tie. For Sally, go with a patchwork-print dress and painted-on stitch details.

21. Joker and Harley Quinn

This is one of the most iconic chaotic couple costumes you can do. Joker gets green hair, pale makeup, and a purple suit, while Harley wears a red and blue jacket with a Daddy’s Lil Monster shirt and a bat prop.

I really like this one for its bold color scheme. It’s instantly recognizable, and there’s a lot of room to have fun with the makeup and accessories.

Green wig or hair spray with clown-style makeup and a purple suit with suspenders cover his look. Add a red and blue baseball jacket, fishnets, and a toy bat labeled Good Night for her.

22. Gomez and Morticia Addams

This is such an elegant option if you want something a little classier for the night. Gomez wears a pinstripe suit and carries a red rose bouquet, while Morticia wears a long black fitted gown with dramatic dark hair.

I love this couples Halloween costume for anyone who wants gothic glam instead of scary. It’s dramatic in the best way and still feels put together.

A pinstripe suit and a thin mustache work for him. For her, go with a black lace or velvet fitted gown, a long dark wig, pale makeup, and scissors as a fun prop.

23. Vampire Couple

This is a classic pick if you want something moody and romantic. She wears a black lace corset dress with blood detail, and he wears a dark Victorian-style jacket, both holding wine or blood-red drink props.

I love how easy this one is to elevate with makeup. It’s dramatic without needing a specific movie reference, so you have a lot of freedom with the styling.

A black corset dress with lace stockings covers her look, and a dark brocade jacket works for him. Add fake blood detailing at the neck and red drinks as props for the finishing touch.

24. Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf

This timeless storybook duo works whether you want cute or spooky. She wears a red hooded cape and carries a basket, and he wears a black shirt with claw-slash marks and wolf-style face makeup.

I like this one a lot for couples who enjoy makeup. It’s such a classic pairing, and you can lean sweet or dark depending on how you style it.

A red velvet cape and a basket prop cover her side easily. For him, a torn black shirt with fake claw marks and dark, smoky wolf-eye makeup pull the whole look together.

Pop Culture and Gaming Couples Costumes

25. Mario and Princess Peach

This is such a classic video game couples costume. He wears a red shirt and cap for Mario, and she wears a pink ruffled dress with a crown for Princess Peach.

I love how colorful and universally recognized this one is. Even people who’ve never played the games know this pairing instantly.

A red Mario cap and shirt are the main pieces for him. Pair a pink satin dress with a gold crown, white gloves, and boots for her.

26. Ash and Pikachu (Pokémon)

This is a fun one for Pokémon fans of any age. She wears a yellow crop top and skirt with a Pikachu ear headband, and he wears a blue and white jacket with a red and white cap, holding a Pokéball.

I love this trainer-and-partner pairing because it’s colorful and instantly recognizable. It’s a great couples Halloween costume if you want something playful.

A Pikachu ear headband, yellow outfit, and red cheek and whisker makeup cover her look, along with a plush Pokéball prop. A blue vest jacket and red trainer cap finish his side.

27. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

This is such a current pop culture pairing right now. She wears a sparkly black outfit with a pink microphone, and he wears a red Chiefs jersey with the number 87.

I love how easy this one is for people to recognize, since it’s straight from recent headlines. It’s a fun option if you want a couples costume that feels current.

A sequin romper or dress with a pink mic prop covers her look. A red football jersey with the matching number and a chain necklace finish his side.

Fun and Creative Couples Costumes

28. Astronaut and Space Girl

This is such a fun sci-fi contrast to play with. He wears an orange NASA-style jumpsuit with a silver helmet, and she wears a sparkly silver fringe dress with an alien antenna headband and face gems.

I love the mix of serious astronaut next to a glittery alien look. It’s an easy concept that anyone gets instantly, no explanation needed.

An orange coverall jumpsuit and a costume helmet cover his look. A tinsel or sequin dress with an antenna headband and some face gems or glitter finish hers.

29. Bank Robbers

This is such a simple, matching couples costume. Black-and-white striped outfits with black beanies and eye masks, plus a money bag and a gold dollar-sign necklace, tell the whole story.

I love how instantly readable this one is as a partners-in-crime look. It’s easy to put together and works well for last-minute planning.

A striped shirt or dress and pants with knit beanies and black eye masks cover the base. Add a cloth money bag and a gold dollar-sign chain for the finishing touch.

30. Statue of Liberty and NY Tourist

This is such a fun, simple American icon pairing. She wears a mint toga dress with a foam spiked crown and a torch, and he wears an I Love NY t-shirt, shorts, and a fanny pack.

I love how easy this one is to throw together and how clearly it reads in photos. It’s a great pick if you want something recognizable without much effort.

A foam spike crown, a draped toga-style dress, and a foam torch prop cover her look. A basic I Love NY shirt and a fanny pack finish his.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Thirty couples Halloween costumes is a lot to scroll through, but you don’t need to try them all. Pick whatever vibe fits you and your partner best, whether that’s silly, romantic, spooky, or a little bit iconic, and build the rest of the costume around that.

The best couples costumes are the ones you’ll actually enjoy wearing all night. Grab your props, get your makeup or wig sorted ahead of time, and you’ll be ready to walk into any party as the best duo there.
