12 Choosing Your Bridal Shower Theme

She’s Fresh Off the Market

This is one of my go-to bridal shower themes for outdoor celebrations. The whole vibe is natural, rustic, and farmhouse-inspired – perfect for backyard showers with a fresh harvest feel.

For your bridal shower set up, think woven baskets everywhere, wooden crates as displays, and checkered tablecloths. Fresh produce becomes your centerpieces – pile up colorful vegetables and fruits right on the tables. I love using milk churns with wildflowers and setting up a little DIY market stand. The color palette is easy – pastel base colors with bright pops from the produce (reds, greens, yellows, oranges) and natural wood tones.

Create a large fresh harvest table with seasonal vegetables, fruits, and charcuterie-style setup. Serve farm-to-table dishes, homemade baked goods, and small jams in mini jars that double as favors. For drinks, fresh-squeezed lemonade and herb-infused waters work great. I love including a make-your-own bouquet station – it’s both entertainment and a favor guests take home.

Pearls and Prosecco (or Petals & Prosecco)

Talk about sophisticated bridal shower decorations – this theme screams old money elegance. I’ve used this bridal shower theme for brides who love that feminine, monochromatic, classy aesthetic.

Your color palette is all soft champagne, ivory, white, beige, and metallic pearl tones with crystal accents. Display champagne and Prosecco bottles decoratively everywhere. Scatter tangled pearl strands as centerpieces and drape tables with ruffles adorned with long pearl garlands. The balloon arch in white, beige, ivory, and metallic shades looks like a champagne explosion – such a showstopper for photos.

Use pearl garlands hung from chairs, pearl stickers on balloons and bottles, and candles in varied-size glass containers. The champagne tower for welcome drinks is a must. For food, serve macarons with sugar pearls, elegant finger foods, and pearl-decorated cakes. Obviously lots of Prosecco and champagne, plus sparkling cocktails and pearly white cocktails.

Love is in Bloom (or Bride in Bloom)

This bridal shower theme is all about vibrant, fresh, colorful romance with rustic touches. I love how garden-inspired it feels – lots of free-spirited energy. It works best for outdoor settings but you can adapt it indoors.

The color palette is bright, colorful florals across the wildflower spectrum with greens, whites, and natural wood accents. Put wildflowers and bright colored flowers absolutely everywhere. Create a handwritten banner with wildflower paintings, use pressed flowers to decorate signage and menus, and hand-draw flowers on favor packages. One of my favorite elements is covering cardboard letters in foam and fake flowers to create a 3D statement piece.

The activities make this theme extra special. Set up a bouquet bar where guests make their own bouquets, or have a station for painting wildflowers on candles (those become favors). Serve light, fresh food – salads, sandwiches, fruit desserts with edible flower garnishes. For drinks, a welcome drink with edible flowers, floral-infused waters, and botanical cocktails work beautifully.

I wrote a whole post that expands on everything for this theme – all the decor, food ideas, and inspo you need. Check out Love is in Bloom: A Garden-Fresh Bridal Shower Theme That’s Bursting with Color.

Something Blue Before I Do

This bridal shower theme is so versatile – it works across seasons and can feel like blue skies in summer or icy elegance in winter. I love how soft, feminine, calm, and sophisticated it is.

Your color palette includes various shades of blue – from sky blue to deep navy – with white, ivory, and silver accents. I really like using Chinoiserie vases and dinnerware for a vintage style, blue vintage glasses with silver accents, and candles in varied-size glass containers. Use white roses, baby’s breath, and blue flowers everywhere.

Add white and blue paper decorations – lanterns, paper balls, paper flowers – for volume without overwhelming the space. Create balloon garlands with different blue shades, white, and metallic, then decorate them with flowers and greenery. Display blue cocktails prominently and add a handmade banner that says “Something Blue Before I Do.” For food, feature berry desserts with blueberries, white chocolate with blue accents, and blue-tinted macarons.

My full guide breaks down all the ideas, tips, and inspiration for this theme in way more detail. Check out Something Blue: The Perfect Bridal Shower Theme (Complete Planning Guide).

Tea Party

This bridal shower theme is so versatile – you can style it from simply elegant to whimsically enchanted. The vibe is pastel, soft, vintage, delicate, and feminine with those magical touches.

Your color palette is pastels – blush pink, lavender, peach, mint – with white and soft gold accents. For flowers, go with rich jewel tones like deep pinks and purples in roses, peonies, ranunculus, and hydrangeas. Use vintage mugs as keepsakes or repurpose them as candle holders. Create paper lace doily garlands and hang them overhead. I really like making hand-sewn ribbon chair decorations in satin or lace.

The food makes this theme special – tea sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cookies, pastries, petit fours, and macarons all served on tiered trays. Offer an assorted tea selection (Earl Grey, English Breakfast, chamomile, fruit teas), sparkling tea cocktails, and champagne or Prosecco. Activities can include painting white hand fans, teacup decorating, or a Bridgerton-style gossip game.

I’ve got tons more on this one – my complete guide has all the decor details, food ideas, and inspo you’ll want. Check out Afternoon Tea Bridal Shower Theme: From Bridgerton to Alice in Wonderland.

Love is Brewing

This bridal shower theme is perfect for coffee-loving brides – or it works great as a wedding shower since it’s neutral enough for couples. The vibe is rustic, warm, aromatic, and cafe-inspired with that cozy energy I love.

The color palette is all coffee and earthy tones – beige, terracotta, brown, cream, with metallic brown and white accents. Start with a paper banner featuring handwriting and coffee drawings. Scatter coffee beans around tables and candles. The coffee drink station is the centerpiece – build it rustically with syrups and add-ons displayed on craft paper or wooden crates.

Use personalized coffee cup sleeves with names and the date. Create a cafe treats table with cake, brownies, cookies, pastries, cinnamon rolls – everything spread on long craft paper. Set up a coffee bar with multiple brewing methods and signature coffee drinks. Display a coffee menu and serve espresso martinis as the welcome drink. An espresso martini tower is always a hit.

There’s way more where that came from – I cover all the tips, ideas, and inspiration for this theme in my full guide. Check out Love is Brewing: A Coffee Lover’s Guide to the Perfect Bridal Shower Theme.

Tying the Knot

This bridal shower theme gives major Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibes. I love how classic, timeless, and monochromatic it is – bold yet feminine with that sophisticated edge.

Your color palette is exclusively black and white with metallic silver accents. The key is bows – put them everywhere. On glasses, candle holders, chairs, napkins, packages. Create white balloons adorned with black bows and hang them from the ceiling with long ribbons. Make giant satin bows as DIY statement pieces – place them on tables, at the entrance, or on walls.

Add black and white striped tablecloths and straws. Mirror balls and lots of mirrors create a glamorous effect. Use white flowers (roses, calla lilies, peonies, tulips) in single long stems in glass vases. Food should play with the color scheme – dark chocolate and vanilla options, black and white desserts, cookies with black and white icing. Serve blackberry cocktails, black and white layered drinks, and espresso martinis.

I put together a complete guide that goes into all the decor, food, and inspo for this theme – everything you need. Check out She’s Tying the Knot: A Timeless Black and White Bridal Shower Theme.

She’s on Cloud 9

This bridal shower theme is all about creating a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere. I love how delicate, soft, zen, and calm it feels – literally like floating on clouds.

Your color palette is white and soft blue (sky blue, baby blue) with silver metallic accents. Use polyester filling (pillow stuffing material) on the floor and tables to mimic actual clouds. The balloon work is really special – create white balloon clusters shaped like clouds as overhead decoration above the food table and as centerpieces. Hang ribbons with metallic paper stars from walls, cloud balloons, and around tables.

Add large floor glass vases with water and floating candles. Mirror balls and silver accents reflect light beautifully. Scatter baby’s breath everywhere – it looks like little clouds. Food should be light and airy – angel food cake, meringues, white chocolate mousse, cloud-shaped cookies, and cotton candy. Serve sparkling drinks with cotton candy on top for a whimsical touch.

My full post expands on all the ideas, tips, and inspiration for this dreamy theme. Check out Cloud 9 Bridal Shower Theme: Dreamy Ideas That’ll Make Her Feel Like She’s Floating.

She Found Her Perfect Pear

This is one of the most unique bridal shower themes I work with. It’s trendy and modern with Renaissance romantic touches – delicate yet bold at the same time.

The color palette is vibrant green, moss green, and soft white with subtle gold accents. Use fresh green fruits everywhere – pears, green grapes, green apples – as actual decoration. Add white and green flowers (white roses, green carnations, eucalyptus, olive branches). Drape fabrics everywhere – tablecloths, wall backgrounds, photo booth backdrop – for that Renaissance feel.

I really like scattering pearls on grapes as centerpieces – it’s such a beautiful detail that ties into the “pear” theme with the pearl wordplay. Add tall chunky candles in varying sizes inside glass containers. Create a fresh harvest-style spread with charcuterie featuring items that pair well with pear – brie, goat cheese, prosciutto, walnuts. Serve pear cake, pear and arugula salad, and pear-infused cocktails.

I wrote a whole guide covering all the decor details, food tips, and inspo for this unique theme. Check out She Found Her Perfect Pear: Modern Bridal Shower Theme, Decor & Ideas.

Lemon-Themed Ideas

This bridal shower theme brings all those Italian and Sicilian vibes – fresh, citrusy, summery, with Mediterranean energy. I love how vibrant and cheerful it is.

Your color palette is yellow and white as the main colors, with blue and orange accents optional. Use lots of lemons – pile them in glass containers, bowls, and mix them with flowers as centerpiece sculptures. Add striped yellow and white tablecloths. Use olive leaves in centerpiece garlands mixed with lemons and candles. Stick thick single flower stems in half lemons and blood oranges – it’s such a beautiful look.

Create dried citrus fruit garlands and hang them from the ceiling and walls. Frame dried citrus slices in glass for signage. Food should be fresh and citric – lemon sorbet served in lemon peel halves with mint, lemon pasta, Caprese salad, and lemon tart. Set up a Pellegrino sparkling water bar and a Spritz bar with Aperol spritz and limoncello spritz.

I’ve got a complete guide that dives into all the ideas, tips, and inspiration for this Italian-inspired theme. Check out Italian Lemon Bridal Shower Theme Ideas: From Ciao to Miss to La Dolce Vita.

That’s Amore

This is my absolute favorite bridal shower theme for Italian food lovers. It’s vibrant, rich, full of flavor, and totally Italian-rooted with Tuscany vibes. The rustic touches and tomato harvest inspiration create something really special.

Your color palette has red and green as the prevalent colors with natural wood tones, checkered patterns, and warm terracotta accents. Use fresh tomatoes, greens, and herbs as decoration throughout. Add red flowers and greenery everywhere, plus checkered napkins and tablecloths for that authentic Italian market feel.

Arrange different tomato varieties as garland centerpieces. Scatter dried pasta (farfalle works best) as decoration mixed with red flowers, greenery, and tomatoes. Add twisted yellow candles that resemble pasta shapes. Here’s what really elevates this theme – add mirror balls to distinguish it from just being a pizza party. Use woven baskets, vintage tomato cans filled with flowers, and write names on dried lasagna pasta for place cards.

The food is obviously Italian – pizza, pasta with different sauces, charcuterie, focaccia, Caprese salad, bruschetta. Set up an Aperol Spritz bar, offer Italian wines, and serve Negroni. Set up an Italian market “shopping” stall where guests choose pasta and olive oil bottles to take home as favors.

There’s so much more to this one – my full guide has all the decor, food, and inspo you need to pull it off. Check out That’s Amore Bridal Shower Theme Guide: Ideas That Feel Like Tuscany.
